The inaugural CPBOA All Star game was held on Saturday, April 12th at Central Dauphin East High School. The purpose of this event was twofold. One was to honor these young men and women for their skills on and off the playing court one last time before heading off to bigger and brighter things. Each of these seniors are excited about what the future holds for them as their high school years are coming to an end. Equally important is the second reason for this event. The Central Pennsylvania Basketball Officials’ Association is establishing a scholarship program for local high school basketball players. A monetary award will be given to one female and one male basketball player who exemplify sportsmanship and leadership both on and off the playing court. Proceeds generated from this event will be deposited into a scholarship fund for future award for Mid-Penn Conference basketball players. The Central Pennsylvania Basketball Officials’ Association has established this scholarship fund for one female and one male Mid-Penn Conference basketball player to receive a small scholarship for post-secondary education. One hundred percent of the funds derived from this event will be given back to our student athletes in the form of scholarship monies.
